FSU's Durish & Wolfe Nab Duo's First @CCSA_Beach Pair of the Season

 


ATLANTA – The Florida State Seminoles garnered the team's first CCSA Beach Volleyball Pair of the Week honors this season. Alexis Durish and Makenna Wolfe had a strong week in the sand to land the duo's first career honor, the league announced on Wednesday. Durish and Wolfe posted a perfect 5-0 record all against ranked opponents in the March to May Tournament in Gulf Shores, Ala.

- First Career CCSA Pair of the Week for Durish & Wolfe pairing; first weekly award of the season & 18th overall for the FSU program
- Went undefeated (5-0) at the March to May Tournament with victories over No. 3 UCLA, No. 6 LSU, No. 10 Georgia State, No. 19 Tulane and No. 20 South Carolina pairs
- Won four matches in straight sets against Bruins, Panthers, Green Waves and Gamecocks; posted a 22-20, 11-21, 15-9 victory for the second team point against the Tigers
- Claimed the match point for the Seminoles against Tulane (21-14, 21-13) and picked up the first team point against South Carolina (21-13, 21-17)
- Helped the Seminoles to a 4-1 record on the week as the team prepares for the LSU Invitational (March 25-26) to play Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, No. 13 Washington, Southern Miss., Spring Hill College & the host Tigers

The Coastal Collegiate Sports Association (CCSA) is a progressive NCAA Division I conference dedicated to the enhancement of opportunities for students. The conference was founded in 2008 to provide a championship opportunity for Swimming and Diving student-athletes and extended that opportunity with the addition of Beach Volleyball in the summer of 2015. The league's footprint extends into several states: Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Missouri, North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia. The CCSA is dedicated to the student-athletes who compete in its championships and their success in the classroom, in the field of competition, and life after graduation.
