Camels top Georgia Southern 161-101

BUIES CREEK – Campbell topped Georgia Southern 161-101 in the final home meet of the fall slate. The Camels finished with 10 first-place finishes out of the 14 events.
 
The 200 medley relay team got things started right with a time of 1:46.47 to grab a narrow victory.
 
Katarina Gagnon took the first of four straight individual wins in the 1000 free posting a time of 10:44.82. Campbell then went on to win the 200 free (Laura Lopez), 100 back (Angelica Ragazzoni), and 100 breast (Piper Burton).
 
Campbell earned the top spot in six of the first seven events to carry an 85-46 lead into the first break.
 
Eishka Hajek later took first in the 50 free, followed by the trio of Meredith Ashburn, Colleen Renshaw, and Elishka Hajek taking all three podium spots in the 100 free.
 
Lopez and Ragazzoni continued their strong performance in the 200 backstroke going 1-2, respectively, to help Campbell hold a 134-92 lead at the second break of the day.
 
Lopez capped the indivual races with her third first-place finish of the day in the 200 IM. The meet wrapped up with the A-team taking the top spot in the 200 free relay.
 
The Camels now have two weekends off before returning to action Nov. 18-20 at the Liberty Invitational.
