Enneking and Wilkins Lead ODU at ECU Tri-Meet

GREENVILLE, N.C. – Noah Wilkins won three events on Saturday, while Tara Enneking won twice to lead Old Dominion Swimming on Saturday at East Carolina. The Monarchs fell in a tri-meet to ECU and William & Mary.
 
The Monarch men opened the meet with a second-place finish in the 200 medley relay, as Gustaf Hansson, Bryce Mortimer, Oskar Iwarsson and Russell Hronek swam to a time of 1:36.71.
 
Cara O'Toole earned the first top-three finish of the day for the women's squad with a third-place spot in the 1000 freestyle with a time of 10:39.25.
 
Carson Doll placed second in the 1000 free for the men with a time of 9:55.88.
 
Tara Enneking got the Monarchs on the winners board by winning the 200 freestyle in a time of 1:51.42.
 
Noah Wilkins completed the event sweep in the 200 free with a winning time of 1:40.81. Ryan Lincicum took third for ODU with a time of 1:45.37.
 
In the 100 backstroke, Samantha Allred placed third with a time of 59.65.
 
The men added back-to-back first-place finishes as Hansson won the 100 backstroke with a time of 52.34, while Jacob Cobb placed third in 53.00.
 
Mortimer followed with a third-place in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 58.84.
 
Summer Miln notched a second-place finish for the women's squad in the 50 freestyle with a time of 24.55, while Wilkins earned his second win of the day for the men with a time of 21.47.
 
Miln recorded a second-straight runner-up spot in the 100 free with a time of 52.92; Wilkins registered his third win of the meet with a time of 46.27, while Lincicum finished right behind him in second with a time of 47.60.
 
Hansson and Cobb placed second and third respectively, in the 200 backstroke. Hansson finished with a time of 1:54.84, while Cobb had a time of 1:55.16.
 
Enneking delivered a second-place finish in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:22.84. Mortimer notched the win for the men with a time of 2:07.79.
 
ODU notched a pair of third-place spots in the 100 butterfly. Martina Ciriesi swam to a time of 57.83, while Iwarsson a time of 52.16.
 
Enneking picked up her second win of the day with a time of 2:05.27 to earn the victory in the 200 IM.
 
Mortimer came in second in the men's 200 IM with a time of 1:57.00, while Cobb came in third with a time of 1:57.72.
 
The ODU women placed third in the 400 freestyle relay, the final event of the day, with a time of 3:40.08. The foursome featured Mary Dunworth, Peri Farling, Brigid Donnelly and Miln.
 
The men's squad won the 400 freestyle relay with a time of 3:09.47. The winning team included Lincicum, Jordan Davis, Hronek and Wilkins.
