Eagles Fare Well at Emory Invite

Four Eagles take gold in Atlanta

ATLANTA – Georgia Southern Swimming & Diving competed at the Emory Fall Invitational finishing second on the weekend.
 
Out of this weekend's events, the Eagles had three first-place swim finishes and one first-place dive finish. Logan Belanger finished first in the 200 Breast in 2:19.08. This was the fifth-fastest time in Georgia Southern history and a lifetime best for Belanger. Hannah Merrill also had a lifetime best at this weekend's Emory Fall Invitational placing first in the 200 Fly in 2:05.63. Avery Sargeant was Georgia Southern's third first-place finish of the weekend swimming a 4:33.19 in the 400 IM.
 
This weekend was Georgia Southern Dive's first meet of the season. Karlee Wells had a first-place finish in the 1-meter diving, scoring a 260.78. Wells also had a second-place finish in the 3-meter diving, scoring a 248.17. Finishing out the top diving scores of the weekend are two third-place finishes, both by Anya Weber. Weber placed third in the 1-meter diving with a score of 212.03 and the 3-meter diving with a score of 236.78.
 
The rest of the weekend's top finishes come from the swimming squad with three second-place finishes: Abby Wenham (100 Free in 52.22); Grace Drawdy (200 Fly in 2:07.22); and Emma Scruggs, Logan Belanger, Madlen Wendland and Abby Wenham (200 Medley Relay in 2:48.27).
 
Finishing out the weekend, Zuri Clavo placed third in the 1,650 Free in a time of 17:31.99. Carsyn Cosman had a third-place finish in the 200 Free in a time of 1:55.43. Lastly, Emma Sutton, Zuri Clavo, Carsyn Cosman and Abby Wenham placed third in the 400 Free Relay to round out Georgia Southern's top finishes of the weekend.
