NORTHRIDGE, Calif. – The No. 6 Grand Canyon beach volleyball team opened its season Thursday by sweeping dual matches against host CSU Northridge and Concordia-Irvine.
The Lopes (2-0) did not drop a set in 10 pairs matches with the junior duo of
Allanis Navas and
Allison Hansen making their debut as the No. 1 pair.

Cami Sanchez teamed up on Court 4 to give the Lopes their first victory against CSU, winning 21-11, 21-10.
The Lopes move crosstown Friday to Los Angeles for matches against No. 14 Long Beach State at 11 a.m. (Phoenix time_ and against No. 4 USC, the defending two-time national champion, at 1:15 p.m. (Phoenix time). Those matches will be streamed
