TCU Racks Up Two More Wins to Close Out Regular Season

Horned Frogs finish regular season with program best 31-1 record

SAN LUIS OBISPO, CALIF. – The No. 1 TCU beach volleyball team ended their regular season with a program best, 31-1, record. The Horned Frogs racked up two more ranked victories over No. 19 Pepperdine, 5-0, and No. 4 Florida State, 3-2, to close out the Center of Effort Challenge in San Luis Obispo, California.
 
The Horned Frogs tallied a new program high 23 season sweeps. TCU also claimed their seventh ranked sweep of the season.
 
Three Frogs delivered perfect 4-0 weekends: Daniela AlvarezHailey Hamlett and Tania Moreno.
 
QUICK HITS AGAINST NO. 19 PEPPERDINE:
  • Daniela Alvarez and Tania Moreno scored the first point of the dual in straight sets from the No. 1 position: 21-13, 21-12.

  • The pairing improved their record to 2-0 this season.
  • Gonzalez improved to 25-3 this season and Vergara to 24-4.
  • Daniela Alvarez and Tania Moreno claimed the second consecutive point, giving the Frogs an early 2-0 lead from the No. 1 position: 21-14, 21-17.
  • The duo notched their 14th ranked victory of the season.
  • The pairing improved to 28-1 this season.
  • Alvarez tallied her 31st win of the season and Moreno her 28th.
