The Liberty diving contingent finished ninth in the team diving event at the WVU Invite, Saturday at The Aquatic Center at Mylan Park in Morgantown, W.Va.

Liberty Results

• Team Diving Event – Liberty A - 9th place in 216.15 (Maddie Freece, Mary Herndon, Grace Gooding)

• Team Diving Event – Liberty B - 11th place in 205.45 (Elizabeth Mumau, Sarah Simpson, Meagan Tuohy)

Notable

• The host West Virginia Mountaineers won the team diving event with 279.25 points. Alabama placed second at 271.90. Liberty’s A Time finished ninth with 216.15.

• The Lady Flames are diving against 13 different schools at that meet this weekend. This weekend’s meet in Morgantown features three-meter today, one-meter tomorrow and a team event on Saturday.

• Liberty split its swimmer and divers this weekend. The Lady Flames’ swimmers will compete at the TYR ’85 Invite, tomorrow through Sunday at Liberty Natatorium

• Liberty’s divers are competing against divers from Alabama, Army, Colgate, Duquesne, East Carolina, James Madison, Navy, Seton Hall, St. Bonaventure, Toledo, Villanova, West Virginia and Youngstown State.

Historically Speaking

• This is the first team diving event Liberty has competed in program history.
