Swimmers Wrap Up Fall Frenzy Invite and Take Fourth

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The James Madison swimmers wrapped up the Queens University hosted Fall Frenzy Invite on Sunday at the Levin Aquatic Center, finishing fourth in the eight-team field.
The Dukes had a swimmer finish in the top 10 of their individual event in all but one race across the three day meet as they scored a total of 1,264 points. Queens (1,540.5), Nova Southeastern (1,464.5) and UNC Asheville (1,369.5) rounded out the top three.

The Dukes will host Richmond in a dual meet at Savage Natatorium on Saturday, Dec. 3. The meet will begin at 10 a.m. with the diving portion, followed by swimming at 12:30 p.m. The meet will be streamed on ESPN+.

Day One
- A pair of teams in the 200 Free Relay finished in the top five, with the team of Alex Volk, Karen Siddoway, Jordyn Schnell and Sydni Diehl finishing second with a time of 1:32.80.
- Six Dukes advanced to the finals in the 500 Free, as Jess Pryne took fourth place (4:56.27), Abby Maguire took eighth (5:00.78) and Angela Ritchie took home ninth (4:57.27).
- Pryne finished third in the 200 IM with a time of 2:02.51 as three Dukes advanced to the finals.
- Volk and Schnell took fifth and sixth place, respectively in the 50 Free. Volk swam a time of 23.31 in the finals with Schnell right behind at 23.38
- Cameron Gring, Devan Taylor, Madison Cottrell and Schnell swam a time of 3:50.52 in the 400 Medley Relay to take seventh place. Lauren Aylmer, Abby Zindler, Grace Bousum and Emily Visscher were a spot behind at 3:52.12.
Day Two
- Both JMU teams finished in the top five for the 200 Medley Relay. Gring, Zindler, Diehl and Schnell took third with a time of 1:43.37 while Alaina Park, Taylor, Cottrell and Emily Drakopoulos swam a time of 1:44.99 for fifth place.
- Pryne won the 400 IM with a time of 4:17.61 while Ritchie claimed sixth place with a time of 4:25.12. Four Dukes joined the pair in the finals for the event.
- Five Dukes advanced to the finals of the 100 Fly, with Diehl taking ninth place with a time of 55.71.
- Siddoway claimed ninth place in the 200 Free with a time of 1:51.59.
- For the 100 Breast, Taylor, Cottrell, Siddoway and Zindler all made the finals.
- Diehl swam a time of 55.95 in the 100 Back finals to take fourth place, followed by Park in seventh (56.57) and Drakopoulos in tenth (56.94).
- The teams of Ritchie, Pryne, Visscher and Siddoway and Volk, Bousum, Emily Wisniewski and Riley Nugent went back-to-back in the 800 Free Relay for third (7:29.40) and fourth place (7:32.81), respectively.
Day Three
- Maguire, Nugent and Erin Jachym competed in the 1650 Free, taking sixth, ninth and tenth place, respectively.
- In the 200 Back, Aylmer swam a time of 2:03.42 for seventh place with Nugent finishing right behind her at 2:05.07.
- Six Dukes advanced to the 100 Free finals, with Schnell leading the way with a seventh-place finish (51.86).
- Cottrell led a squad of four in the finals of the 200 Breast, finishing ninth with a time of 2:18.37.
- Pryne and Ritchie placed fourth and sixth, respectively in the 200 Fly finals. Pryne had a time of 2:03.09 while Ritchie swam a time of 2:04.94.
- The team of Siddoway, Gring, Volk and Schnell swam a 3:26.08 in the 400 Free Relay to take fourth place.
