HOUSTON – No. 3 TCU beach volleyball swept both UAB and Houston Christian, 5-0, on the opening day of the Third Coast College Classic in Houston, Texas.
 
TCU won 20-of-21 sets played on the day. Maria Gonzalez and Hailey Hamlett had the largest margin of victory of the day, 24 points, in the win over the Houston Christian No. 4 pairing. 
 
All six Horned Frog pairings delivered perfect days. Daniela Alvarez, Tania Moreno, Sutton MacTavish, Ana Vergara, Anhelina Khmil, Maria Gonzalez, Hailey Hamlett, Rochelle Scott, Keagan Polk and Hailey Brockett all opened the season undefeated. 

QUICK HITS AGAINST UAB:

• • Maria Gonzalez and Hailey Hamlett scored the first point for the Horned Frogs, winning in two sets at the No. 4 position: 21-13, 21-11.
• • This was the duo's first appearance and victory as a pairing.
• • Gonzalez notched her 55^th career victory as a Frog and Hamlett her 22nd.
• • Rochelle Scott and Keagan Polk snagged the second point for TCU in straight sets from the No. 5 position: 21-11, 22-20

• • MacTavish improved her career record to 28-11.
• • Anhelina Khmil and Ana Vergara secured the first sweep of the season for the Frogs in their dominate victory at No. 3: 21-13, 21-11.
• • This was the duo's first appearance and victory together.
• • Khmil claimed her first victory as a Horned Frog.
• • Vergara improved her career record to 31-7.
• • Luana Araco and Hallie Corinne Frist won an exhibition match, 21-12, 21-18. The win did not count toward the dual score and will not be reflected in their career records.
• • TCU remained undefeated against UAB, with today's win solidifying their 10^th straight victory over the Blazers.

QUICK HITS AGAINST Houston Christian:

• • Maria Gonzalez and Hailey Hamlett scored the first point for the Horned Frogs, winning in two sets at the No. 4 position: 21-9, 21-9.
• • The duo completed their first weekend as a pairing, undefeated, 2-0.
• • Gonzalez improved her career record to 56-16 and Hamlett to 23-8.
• • Rochelle Scott and Hailey Brockett claimed the second point for TCU in two sets from the No. 5 position: 21-17, 21-9.
• • This was the pairings first ever appearance and victory together.
• • Scott claimed her 69^th career victory and  Brockett her
• • Sutton MacTavish and Kate Privett secured the match victory for TCU with their two-set win from the No. 3 position: 21-11, 21-10.
• • The duo also finished the day undefeated 2-0 to start the 2023 season.

• • Anhelina Khmil and Ana Vergara secured the first sweep of the season for the Frogs with their three-set victory at the No. 2 position: 21-17, 19-21, 15-8.
• • Khmil remains undefeated as a Horned Frog, 2-0 and Vergara improves her career record to 32-7.
• • Keagan Polk and Hallie Corinne Frist won an exhibition match, 21-18, 21-17. The win did not count toward the dual score and will not be reflected in their career records.
• • TCU remained undefeated against Houston Christian, with today's win solidifying their 11^th straight victory over the Huskies.
• • The Horned Frogs remained undefeated against teams in Texas, improving their record to 30-0.
