Queens and UNC Asheville Bring Home Swimmer and Diver of the Week honors

Charlotte, N.C. (TheCCSA.com) – Queen’s Annika Huber earned the CCSA Swimmer of the Week honors. While UNC Asheville’s Jade Canady earned CCSA Diver of the Week honors, announced Tuesday by the league office. This is the first honor for both Huber and Canady this season.

1st - 1:03.04 in 100 Breaststroke 

 

Queens women's swimming enjoyed a successful weekend against a pair of strong opponents, claiming two victories over Vanderbilt and Richmond in a two-day double dual meet. The Royals managed a 181-134 victory over Vanderbilt, while also securing victory over Richmond, 188-127. The meet began with 400-yard medley relay, as Huber and company dashed to a time of 3:47.63. The Royals managed first place finishes in the final two events of the afternoon, as Annika Huber placed atop the rest in the 200 breast at 2:15.74, followed by a first-place finish in the 200 free relay (1:35.03).

 

CCSA Diver of the Week

3M - 241.65, School Record, 2nd place

1M - 243.83, School Record, 2nd place

 

Canady led the Bulldogs on the boards last weekend in a double dual meet against Davidson and Gardner-Webb. The junior diver broke not one but two school records over the weekend with point totals of 241.65 (3-meter) and 243.83 (1-meter). Both of these performances helped Asheville remain unbeaten (4-0) as it knocked off the Runnin' Bulldogs (236-48) and Wildcats (155-145).
