CCSA ANNOUNCES WOMEN’S SWIMMER AND DIVER OF THE WEEK
Charlotte, N.C. (TheCCSA.com) – UNC Asheville Bulldogs collect the Women’s Swimmer and Diver of the Week Honors in the CCSA. Delaney Carlton earned her first CCSA Swimmer of the Week honors while teammate Morgan Coughlen was named the CCSA Diver of the Week, announced Tuesday by the league office.
CCSA Swimmer of the Week
Delaney Carlton, UNC Asheville
Senior | Lilburn, Ga.
- Recorded a time of 23.42 in the 50-yard freestyle capturing first place
- Swam a 51.41 in the 100-yard freestyle, good for another first-place finish
- Was a member of the 200-medley relay team that finished with a time of 1:46.01 good for first place
- Was also a member of the 400-yard freestyle relay team that finished with a time of 3:30.01 capturing another first-place finish.
Carlton played a key role in Asheville downing ECU, 160-140, in its first meet of the 2022-23 season over the weekend. Individually, She won the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 23.42 and paced the field in the 100-yard freestyle clocking in at 51.41. Both marks were personal and team-best marks for that event in a dual meet. Carlton also helped Asheville win the 200-yard medley relay (1:46.01) and 400-yard freestyle relay (3:30.01). Serving as the anchor in both relays, Carlton's splits were 22.72 and 50.74, respectively.
CCSA Diver of the Week
Morgan Coughlen, UNC Asheville
Sophomore | Frisco, Tx.
- Placed fourth in the 1-meter dive with a score of 201.30
-Recorded another fourth-place finish in the 1-meter dive with a score of 210.20
Coughlen led the way for Asheville's divers in last weekend's 160-140 win over ECU. She finished in fourth place in both 1-meter diving events last Friday with point totals of 201.30 and 210.20. Both of those point totals not only paced the Bulldogs but got Asheville some key points to fuel its victory over the Pirates.
