CCSA Announces Women's Swimmer and Diver of the Week - Jan. 8

Charlotte, N.C. (TheCCSA.com) – For the second time this season Florida Gulf Coast senior Gracie Redding (Orlando, Fla.) has been named the CCSA Women's Swimmer of the Week, while sophomore teammate Megan Wakefield (Geulph, Ontario) is the Women's Diver of the Week, the CCSA announced Tuesday.

Last week in a meet against Liberty, Buffalo and Bowling Green, Redding swam on both winning relays for the Eagles. In both the 200 Medley and 400 Free, she swam the fastest 50 fly split (24.62) and 100 free split (50.75) of anyone on the day. Redding also claimed the 50 free (23.53) and captured second in the 100 fly with a personal-best finish of 55.77.

Wakefield led the way for the Eagle divers, taking second place to Bowing Green on both the 1- and 3-meter boards. She grabbed a score of 244.45 in the 1-meter, then followed that up with a total of 248.22 in the 3-meter.

Also nominated for Swimmer of the Week: Maddie Baiotto (Campbell), Mariana Ruvalcaba Cruz (Incarnate Word) and Gianni Pitto (Liberty).

Also nominated for Diver of the Week: Christian Nickolas (Howard) and Lauren Chennault (Liberty).
