CCSA Announces Women's Swimmer and Diver of the Week - Oct. 31

Charlotte, N.C. (TheCCSA.com) – Liberty sophomore Mikayla Herich (Hebron Ky.) has been named the CCSA Women's Swimmer of the Week for meets contested Oct. 22-28. In addition, freshman teammate Olivia Robinson (Friendswood, Texas) is the Women's Diver of the Week, the CCSA announced Wednesday.

Herich helped Liberty sweep BYU, Gardner-Webb and Old Dominion at the All-American Celebration Meet last week. All three of her swims were the fastest times of any CCSA swimmer in that event so far this season. She won the 200 IM on Friday night in 2:05.17. Herich then finished second in the 1000 freestyle on Saturday in a time of 10:22.80 and won the 400 IM with her time of 4:25.50. She also moved into the top five in program history in both the 1000 freestyle and 400 IM with her times last Saturday.

Robinson had a record-setting weekend for the Lady Flames, setting two records, earning one event win and one NCAA Zone Qualifying score during the All-American Celebration meet. Last Friday, she set a program record in the 3-meter dive with a score of 281.25. That score earned her a spot at the 2019 NCAA Zone Qualifying Meet and served as the first time in program history that Liberty has won a diving event at a dual meet. Then on Saturday, Robinson set a program record in platform diving, scoring 198.37 points to finish in second. She also placed fifth in the 1-meter dive with a total of 241.00.

Also nominated for Swimmer of the Week: Sarah Wilson (Campbell), Morgan VanderSchaaf (Gardner-Webb), Klaudia Holt (Georgia Southern) and Morgan Rulevich (UNC Asheville).
