CCSA Announces Women's Swimmer and Diver of the Week - Oct. 9

Charlotte, N.C. (TheCCSA.com) – Florida Gulf Coast senior Gracie Redding (Orlando, Fla.) has been named the CCSA Women's Swimmer of the Week, while sophomore teammate Megan Wakefield (Geulph, Ontario) is the Women's Diver of the Week for meets contested Oct. 1-7, the CCSA announced Tuesday.

Redding was a member of all four winning relays at the TYR FIU Classic, as she helped the Eagles win the meet with 478.5 points. Florida Gulf Coast and edge out host FIU (454.5) and TCU (390). Redding posted a split of 50.54 in the freestyle leg of the 400 Medley Relay and anchored the 200 Medley Relay in 22.98. She also captured the 50 freestyle title with a time of 23.56.

Wakefield placed second in the 3-meter dive with a score of 234.80, which secured 17 points for the Eagles. She also finished 11th on the 1-meter dive for an additional six points to help FGCU secure the meet victory.

Also nominated for Swimmer of the Week: Taylor McMinn (Campbell), Morgan VanderSchaff(Gardner-Webb) and Payton Keiner (Liberty).

Also nominated for Diver of the Week: Lauren Chennault (Liberty).
