CCSA Announces Women's Swimmer and Diver of the Week - Jan. 30

Charlotte, N.C. (TheCCSA.com) – Florida Gulf Coast freshman Rebecca Moynihan (Palmerston North, New Zealand) has been named the CCSA Women's Swimmer of the Week for the second time this season for meets contested Jan. 22-28. Fellow Florida Gulf Coast freshman Melissa Novak (Frederick, Md.) has been named CCSA Women's Diver of the Week, also for the second time this season, the CCSA announced Tuesday.

Moynihan won the 50 free in 23.25 then the 100 Free in a time of 50.65, a lifetime best and the fastest FGCU 100 free time in dual meet history. She also anchored the winning 200-free relay in a lifetime best split of 22.55. Moynihan's times helped FGCU pick up a 154-146 win over defending Conference USA Champion FIU last Saturday to conclude the regular season.

Novak captured the 3m dive title last Saturday against FIU with 305.60 points, which is the second highest score in FGCU history.

 

Also nominated for Swimmer of the Week: Caroline Clark (Campbell), Tessa Walsh (Gardner-Webb), Kaylyn Thomas (Georgia Southern), Alona Kyselova (Incarnate Word), Prudence Rooker (Liberty), Sydney Groth (North Florida) and Morgan Rulevich (UNC Asheville).

Also nominated for Diver of the Week: Katie Knight (Georgia Southern) and Jenna Joyal (Liberty).
