ATLANTA, Ga. - The Coastal Collegiate Sports Association (CCSA) announced Thursday that the 2020 and 2021 CCSA Swimming and Diving Championships will be moving back to the Allan Jones Aquatic Center in Knoxville, Tenn. The 2020 edition marks the 12th championship for the CCSA in the sport of Swimming & Diving, since being founded in 2008. The 2020 Championship will take place from February 19-22.
It marks the first time in CCSA history that the championships will be held at the University of Tennessee's Allan Jones Aquatic Center for two consecutive years and the first time returning since 2014.
"We are delighted to partner with the University of Tennessee Athletic Department," said Jerome Rodgers, Commissoner of the CCSA. "The Allan Jones Aquatic Center provides our student-athletes an opportunity to compete in yet another state-of-the-art facility which supports our efforts to provide the best championship experience possible."
The Allan Jones Aquatic Center was finished in 2008 at a cost of more than $24 million, becoming one of the best aquatic facilities in the nation. The facility includes a two full-size 50-meter pools and two diving well, one of each for competitions. The facility also includes 1,284 permanent seats for spectators to watch meets while accommodating the teams with a spacious deck area.
The 2020 CCSA Swimming & Diving Championships will take place over the course of four days from February 19-22. FGCU has won nine CCSA Championship titles, while Liberty has claimed two, including the 2019 title. On the men's side, Incarnate Word is tied with two other programs for the most titles with three, winning back-to-back titles in 2018 and 2019.
