CCSA Announces Men's Swimmer and Diver of the Week - Oct. 8

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Howard’s Speakman Smith earned CCSA Swimmer of the Week honors while FAU’s Michael Cannatelli was named the CCSA Diver of the Week, announced Tuesday by the league office. The first award of this year for Smith and second consecutive award for Cannatelli.

Junior | Jacksonville, Fla.

- First CCSA Swimmer of the Week honor this year

- Swam a 57.73 in the 100 breaststroke and a 21.46 in the 200 freestyle on Friday to capture third place finishes in both events

- Placed second in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:46.80 on Saturday

- Recorded a 2:10.94 in the 200 breaststroke to take top honors in the event vs VMI

- His 22.07 (lead-off) in the 200 freestyle relay helped lead the team to take first place

 

CCSA Diver of the Week

Michael Cannatelli, FAU

Sophomore | Clearwater, Fla.

- Second in a row and career CCSA Diver of the Week honor

- Placed third in the 3-meter event with a 300.15

- Scored a 248.25 in the 1-meter event to grab a fifth place

- Leading Owls diver for the second week in a row
