CHARLOTTE, N.C. (TheCCSA.com) – NJIT freshman Joshua Franco (Hilsborough, N.J.) has been named the CCSA Men's Swimmer of the Week for meets contested Jan. 21-27. In addition, Incarnate Word junior Dawson Martinez (San Antonio, Texas) is this week's Men's Diver of the Week, the CCSA announced Tuesday.
Franco won multiple events against Monmouth last week, which helped the Highlanders claim the overall victory. He won three freestyle events -- the 50-meter in 22.27, followed by the 100-meter with a 48.09, and finally the 200-meter in a time of 1:48.42.
Martinez won both the 1-meter and 3-meter dives in a win at TCU last week. He amassed a total of 319.85 points on the 1-meter board, then tallied 349.60 points on the 3-meter.
Also nominated for Swimmer of the Week: Will Smith (Florida Atlantic) and Hector Ruvalcaba Cruz (Incarnate Word).
