CCSA Announces Men's Swimmer and Diver of the Week - Dec. 4

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (TheCCSA.com) – NJIT freshman Kai Legband (Union, N.J.) has been named the CCSA Men's Swimmer of the Week for meets contested Nov. 26-Dec. 2, the CCSA announced Tuesday. In addition, teammate Avery Bechtel (Gardners, Pa.) has been named the Men's Diver of the Week.

Legband helped the Highlanders take last week's ECAC Winter Championships title with five total race victories. He finished with a time of 45.05 in the 100 yard freestyle for the win. He also helped take the 400 yard freestyle relay in a time of 3:05.98, which was more than two seconds faster than the second-place team (3:08.26). Legband then grabbed a 20.65 for the 50 Yard Freestyle title and was a part of the first-place 200 yard freestyle relay team, where he posted an anchor time of 1:24.59. He finished the competition with another top time, in the 800 yard freestyle with a time of 6:52.82.

Bechtel won the 3-meter dive with a score of 182.60 at the ECAC Winter Championships. He then posted a 218.50 score to win the 1-meter dive competition.
