CCSA Announces Men's Swimmer and Diver of the Week - Oct. 31

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (TheCCSA.com) – Florida Atlantic junior Alex Taber (Albany, N.Y.) has been named the CCSA Men's Swimmer of the Week for meets contested Oct. 22-28, while sophomore teammate Logan Downey (Plantation, Fla.) is the Men's Diver of the Week, the CCSA announced Wednesday.

Taber earned four season bests and a personal best time in Florida Atlantic's meet at Indian River State College last Friday. With three second-place finishes, he secured 12 points for the Owls. Taber broke a lifetime best time in the 200 IM with a 1:57.42 finish and finished second in the 100 back (52.22) and 200 back (1:54.19).

Downey finished at the top of the podium multiple times last week. On Friday against Indian River State College, Downey placed first in the 1-meter dive with a score 316.65, which was enough to beat the second-place finisher by almost 90 points and set a season best score. Downey also finished first in the 3-meter dive, earning a score of 269.77.

Also nominated for Swimmer of the Week: Chase Mattingly (Gardner-Webb) and Mattheau Bonner (NJIT).

Also nominated for Diver of the Week: Cole Becker (NJIT).
