CCSA Announces Men's Swimmer and Diver of the Week - Oct. 24

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (TheCCSA.com) – Howard senior Mark McCluskey (Hope, Maine) has been named the CCSA Men's Swimmer of the Week for meets contested Oct. 15-21, while NJIT junior Cole Becker (West Berlin, N.J.) is the Men's Diver of the Week, the CCSA announced Wednesday.

McCluskey's performances last week helped the Bison earn a victory over Chowan in the Bison's first home meet of the season. He anchored the 200 Medley B relay, coming from behind to help his team finish in second place. McCluskey's split of 21.56 was the fastest of all competitors in that leg. He also secured points for the Bison in the 100 Freestyle (49.68), placing second. Then in the 200 Free relay, he grabbed another second place finish and posted his second 21 second split of the day.

Becker became the first Highlander to attain an individual first-place finish on the board with his final score of 222.45 in the 1-meter dive. He surpassed teammate Avery Bechtel, who finished in second with a 208.45. The pair also finished in the same order in the 3-meter, with scores of 192.70 and 186.20, respectively.
