CCSA Announces Men's Swimmer and Diver of the Week - Jan. 16

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (TheCCSA.com) – Old Dominion freshman Ethan Apisa (Blacksburg, Va.) has been named the CCSA Men's Swimmer of the Week for meets contested Jan. 8-14, the CCSA announced Tuesday. Also, Incarnate Word sophomore Dawson Martinez (San Antonio, Texas) earns his third Men's Diver of the week honor of the season.

In a meet against William & Mary last weekend, Apisa finished first in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 9:26.58. His time was good enough to break an 18-year-old pool record.

Martinez won the 1-meter dive competition at the Air Force Invitational last weekend with 307.26 points. He followed that up with another win, this time in the 3-meter dive with a final score of 311.80 points.

 

Also nominated for Swimmer of the Week: Alex Taber (Florida Atlantic) and Hector Ruvalcaba Cruz (Incarnate Word).
