TCU's Alvarez & Moreno Tabbed as 2023 AVCA National Pair of the Year

LEXINGTON, Ky. - Two-time CCSA Pair of the Year, Daniela Alvarez and Tania Moreno of TCU were named as 2023 AVCA Beach Volleyball National Pair of the Year, the organization announced on Monday. Alvarez and Moreno were the CCSA Pair of the Tournament after leading their Horned Frogs squad to their first CCSA Championship Title.

The Horned Frogs' top pair went 34-1 with 17 ranked wins on the season and led their team to their first No. 1 national ranking on March 7 where they remained for six straight weeks. Alvarez and Moreno won 22-straight matches while helping the team capture its first CCSA Beach Volleyball Championship title and reach the NCAA Championship Semifinals. The duo also claimed AVCA All-America honors for the third time in their careers.


The Coastal Collegiate Sports Association (CCSA) is a progressive NCAA Division I conference dedicated to the enhancement of opportunities for students. The conference was founded in 2008 to provide a championship opportunity for Swimming and Diving student-athletes and extended that opportunity with the addition of Beach Volleyball in the summer of 2015. The league's footprint extends into several states: Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Missouri, North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia. The CCSA is dedicated to the student-athletes who compete in its championships and their success in the classroom, in the field of competition, and life after graduation.
