Five @CCSA_Beach Pairs Honored with AVCA All-America Status

LEXINGTON, Ky. - Five Coastal Collegiate Sports Association (CCSA) Beach Volleyball pairs earned AVCA All-American Honors announced by the organization on Thursday. TCU's No. 1 Tandem of Daniela Alvarez and Tania was joined by Florida State's pair of Maddie Anderson and Paige Kalkhoff and LSU's Kylie DeBerg and Ellie Shank to earn First Team honors. Allison Hansen and Abbie Hughes represented Grand Canyon and Skylar Allen and Simone Priebe represented South Carolina as both duos were Second Team honorees.

Two-time CCSA Pair of the Year and 2023 Pair of the Tournament, Alvarez and Moreno earned their third All-American honors as the league's top duo went 28-1 on the season and helped the Horned Frogs earn the program's first No. 1 national ranking. The pair lead TCU into the NCAA Championship First Round on Friday as the No. 2 seed and opens competition against #15 Stetson.

FSU's Anderson was honored as a First Team selection for the second consecutive season while Kalkhoff earned her first selection after being a Second Team honoree at Florida International in 2022. FSU's 1s led the Seminoles to a top-four ranking in the national poll all season as the duo posted a 22-11 record.

DeBerg and Shank paired together for the first time this season and enjoyed a 23-11 record to earn First Team All-American accolades. The pair began the year on a 10-match-winning streak, leading the Tigers to a final four appearance in the CCSA Championship and the #5 seed in the NCAA Championship.

CCSA All-Tournament pair Allison Hansen and Abbie Hughes helped the Lopes earn a trip to the CCSA Championship Final in the program's first appearance in the league. The duo went 15-4 this season and help GCU defeat TCU and LSU in the championship bracket to earn an at-large selection and the #7 seed in the NCAA Championship.

Allen and Priebe capped their 2023 campaign with a 20-10 record on the top court for the Gamecocks. Allen earned her second All-America honors after earning the same distinction after the 2021 season. The pair picked up four ranked victories and led South Carolina to the #5 seed in the CCSA Championship.

The Coastal Collegiate Sports Association (CCSA) is a progressive NCAA Division I conference dedicated to the enhancement of opportunities for students. The conference was founded in 2008 to provide a championship opportunity for Swimming and Diving student-athletes and extended that opportunity with the addition of Beach Volleyball in the summer of 2015. The league's footprint extends into several states: Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Missouri, North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia. The CCSA is dedicated to the student-athletes who compete in its championships and their success in the classroom, in the field of competition, and life after graduation.
