HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - Grand Canyon continued to swing all the way to the CCSA Beach Volleyball Championship Final on Friday to highlight four more exciting and high-intensity matchups at the John Hunt Beach Volleyball Complex. The Lopes await the winner of #1 TCU and #3 LSU who play at 10:30 AM CT on Saturday. TCU stalled Florida State's quest for a seventh-straight title as the league will crown a new champion for the first time since its inception in 2016.

GCU's appearance in the title game marks the first time the Lopes will contend for a conference championship trophy. They were able to gut out a 3-2 victory over the Tigers as Allanis Navas and Samaya Morin came back from dropping the first set to clinch the championship semifinal victory (15-21, 21-12, 15-12). The pair on Court 5 put the Lopes on the board first with Jessica Drake and Dana Roskic earning a 21-7, 21-18 victory. LSU countered on the next court with Ella Larkin and Lara Boos earning a straight-set victory on Four (21-18, 21-11). GCU and LSU earned their second points of the match with the Lopes taking Court 3 and the Tigers winning at the top flight to set up Navas and Morin's third-set winner.

Top-seeded TCU shined with two victories on the day to keep its championship title dreams alive. The Horned Frogs earned a 5-0 victory in the morning clash against Missouri State before eliminating six-time defending Champion Florida State, 3-2, in the final match of the afternoon. CCSA Pair of the Year Daniela Alvarez and Tania Moreno pushed TCU over the top to reach Championship Saturday with a straight-set, 21-16, 21-16 winner. The Horned Frogs also added straight-set victories on Court 3 (Sutton MacTavish/Hailey Hamlett) and Court 5 (Rochelle Scott/Hailey Brockett) to set up Saturday's opener against the Tigers.

The Seminoles swiped a 4-1 victory in the consolation bracket to eliminate #5 South Carolina in the morning to go 1-2 in the championship. FSU earned a 21-13, 21-13 win on Court 5, then back-to-back finishes from Courts 2 (28-26, 21-19) and 3 (21-19, 21-19). Maddie Anderson and Paige Kalkhoff put on the finishing touch with a three-set win on Court 1 (21-18, 16-21, 15-11).

All of the 2023 CCSA Championship matches will be broadcast live with Courts 6, 7 & 8 being featured on the Bally Sports App and Courts 9 & 10 streamed on AVP Beach Volleyball's YouTube page.
