South Carolina's Skylar Allen & Simone Priebe Named @CCSA_Beach Pair of the Week

 


ATLANTA – South Carolina was featured for the first time this season as Skylar Allen and Simone Priebe were named CCSA Beach Volleyball Pair of the Week, the league announced on Wednesday. The Gamecocks' No. 1 pair posted a 4-0 weekend and became the first duo in program history to notch 20 victories together on Court 1.

- First Career CCSA Pair of the Week for Allen & Priebe pairing; third weekly award for the South Carolina program
- Turned in a 4-0 weekend in the final tournament of the regular season; defeated top pairs from FGCU, Coastal Carolina, Jacksonville and College of Charleston
- Became the first pair in program history to record 20 wins in a season at the top court; marked the second 20-win season for Allen and first for Priebe 
- Clinched the match point with a 21-18, 22-20 score against CCU; also had the clinching point against Charleston, winning 21-18, 19-21, 15-9
- Helped the Gamecocks to a 19-10 overall record as the 16th-ranked team heads into the CCSA Championship on a five-match win streak

The Coastal Collegiate Sports Association (CCSA) is a progressive NCAA Division I conference dedicated to the enhancement of opportunities for students. The conference was founded in 2008 to provide a championship opportunity for Swimming and Diving student-athletes and extended that opportunity with the addition of Beach Volleyball in the summer of 2015. The league's footprint extends into several states: Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Missouri, North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia. The CCSA is dedicated to the student-athletes who compete in its championships and their success in the classroom, in the field of competition, and life after graduation.
