TCU's Alvarez & Moreno Capture Third @CCSA_Beach Pair of the Week Award This Season

 


ATLANTA – TCU's Daniela Alvarez and Tania Moreno earned their third CCSA Beach Volleyball Pair of the Week honors this season, the league office announced on Wednesday. The Horned Frog pair were also named the AVCA/CBVB Pair of the Week on Monday after a 4-0 week including ranked victories over No. 6 Grand Canyon (21-12, 21-19), No. 9 California (21-13, 21-12) and No. 15 Florida International (21-10, 21-13) as well as a straight set win over Texas (21-10, 21-12).

Daniela Alvarez, TCU | Senior | Asturias, Spain
Tania Moreno, TCU | Junior | Madrid, Spain
- Sixth Career CCSA Pair of the Week for Alvarez & Moreno pairing; seventh weekly award for the TCU program
- Played all four matches at the No. 1 position, taking out opponents from No. 6 Grand Canyon, No. 9 California, No. 15 Florida International and Texas
- The pair were also responsible for scoring three match clinching points over the weekend against FIU, Grand Canyon and Texas
- tallied an average margin of victory of 8.375 points per set
- Improved to 16-1 on the season as the pair leads No. 1 TCU into the next four matches at the North Florida Invite in Jacksonville, Fla.

The Coastal Collegiate Sports Association (CCSA) is a progressive NCAA Division I conference dedicated to the enhancement of opportunities for students. The conference was founded in 2008 to provide a championship opportunity for Swimming and Diving student-athletes and extended that opportunity with the addition of Beach Volleyball in the summer of 2015. The league's footprint extends into several states: Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Missouri, North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia. The CCSA is dedicated to the student-athletes who compete in its championships and their success in the classroom, in the field of competition, and life after graduation.
