2019 CCSA Beach Volleyball Schedule

ATLANTA, Ga. - The 2019 CCSA Beach Volleyball season rolled on this weekend, as 11 of the leagues 12 programs were in action. Six CCSA squads took part in the ever competitive FIU Surf N' Turf Invitational down on South Beach, while the other five squads competed at the Georgia State Diggin' Duals in Atlanta. 

#3 Florida State, #4 LSU, #11 South Carolina, #19 Georgia State and College of Charleston all posted winning records at their respective tournament last weekend. Seven CCSA squads were featured in the latest AVCA Top 20 poll that was released on Monday.

Team-By-Team Breakdown
College of Charleston Cougars (14-2) - Follow @CofCVolleyball
- Charleston went 2-2 last weekend at the Georgia State Diggin' Duals, dropping their first contest of the year. They sit with the best overall record at 14-2
- No. 1 pair of Kennedy Madison and Lauren Freed hold a record of 14-2 this season, they too went 2-2 last weekend in Atlanta

#16 FAU Owls (11-8) - Follow @FAUBEACHTeam
- FAU split four matches last weekend at the FIU Surf N' Turf Invitational, defeating #20 TCU and Tulane before dropping two close contests to #16 Grand Canyon and #4 LSU
- Nicole Grant and Amanda Silva own a record of 15-4 this season and together the pair went 4-0 last weekend with three top 20 wins

#8 FIU Panthers (11-8) - Follow @FIUVolleyball 
- FIU went 3-3 last weekend, as they hosted the FIU Surf N' Turf. The Panthers collected wins over #10 Stetson, #16 Grand Canyon and Tulane
- The Panthers travel up to Tallahassee this coming weekend, as they look for more ranked wins at the FSU Beach Bash

#3 Florida State Seminoles (17-5) - Follow @FSU_BeachVB
- The Seminoles notched a 3-1 makr last weekend at the FIU Surf N' Turf. FSU captured wins over #8 FIU, #10 Stetson and Tulane. Their only loss came to #1 UCLA
- Alaina Chacon and Madison Fitzpatrick own a 15-7 mark this season, while their 15 wins stand for most on the team ahead of Sara Putt & Payton Caffrey with 12

#17 Georgia State Panthers (17-9) - Follow @GSUBeachVB
- Georgia State swept through the weekend last week, as they hosted the Georgia State Diggin' Duals with wins over UNCW, Arizona State, Charleston and Tampa
- Becky Tresham and Maddie Gordon have been on a roll, as they hold a 21-4 and have not lost since March 2nd against Grand Canyon 

#4 LSU Tigers (17-5) - Follow @LSUBeachVB
- LSU capped off an impressive opening weekend at the FIU Surf N' Turf, as they went 4-1 with four ranked wins against #8 FIU, #10 Stetson, #16 Grand Canyon and #15 FAU
- The Preseason CCSA Pair of the Year of Kristen Nuss & Claire Coppola continue to impress, as they hold a 19-3 record on the year. Their only losses at to #1 UCLA (2x) and #2 USC

#11 South Carolina Gamecocks (13-6) - Follow @GamecockBeachVB
- The Gamecocks were in action for just one match this past weekend, as they hosted Arizona State at Wheeler Beach. They downed the Sun Devils by a score of 3-2
- South Carolina heads the Bayou this coming weekend to take part in LSU Beach Invitational with the likes of CCSA foes, #4 LSU and #20 TCU

Southern Miss Golden Eagles (8-17) - Follow @SouthernMissVB
- Southern Miss had this weekend off after five-straight weeks of action to start the season
- The Golden Eagles are back in action this weekend when they host Spring Hill in Hattiesburg

#20 TCU Horned Frogs (12-12) - Follow @TCUBeachVB
- TCU split its four contests at the FIU Surf N' Turf this past weekend. The Horned Frogs captured top 20 wins against #10 Stetson and #16 Grand Canyon
- No. 5 pair of Avery Arellano and Hailey Brockett went 4-0 in South Beach, and dropped just two sets all weekend long

Tulane Green Wave (15-12) - Follow @GreenWaveBeach
- Tulane went 1-4 at the FIU Surf N' Turf with their lone win being a ranked one, as they took down #20 TCU
- Kaylie McHugh and Eva Torruella have been brilliant together for the Green Wave this year, as they hold a 14-4 record out of the No. 1 pairing

UAB Blazers (10-10) - Follow @UAB_BVB
- The Blazers went 1-3 at the Georgia State Diggin' Duals last weekend with their lone win over CCSA foe, UNCW. UAB has already surpassed their win total from 2018
- UAB travels out to Arizona this weekend to take part in the Grand Canyon Tournament in Phoenix, which features foes like Cal Poly, Utah and Grand Canyon

UNC Wilmington Seahawks (7-10) - Follow @UNCWBeachVB
- The Seahawks went winless at the Georgia State Diggin' Duals last weekend in Atlanta
- UNC Wilmington looks to get back on track in two weaks at the Palmetto Invitational in South Carolina
