ATLANTA, Ga. - The 2019 CCSA Beach Volleyball season rolls on into its fourth weekend of play this weekend. At about the halfway point in the season, the league has seven teams ranked in the AVCA Top 20 poll, led by Florida State, LSU, FIU and South Carolina, who all come in the top 10.
The Seminoles have this weekend off after a grueling week out west last weekend. LSU makes program history on Friday night when they open up the LSU Beach Volleyball Stadium for the first time ever, as they host Coastal Carolina. FIU and South Carolina host important tournaments this weekend, that feature several opportunities to grab wins over ranked opponents. FAU looks to continue its strong start when they take on FIU and #2 USC in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. this weekend.

College of Charleston Cougars (8-0) - Follow @CofCVolleyball
- The Cougars sit as the only undefeated team in the CCSA this season. They travel to Puerto Rico for a training trip this week
- The pairs of Lauren Freed & Kenley Madison and Devon Rachel & McKala Rhodes have yet to drop a set this season.
#16 FAU Owls (6-2) - Follow @FAUBEACHTeam
- The Owls return to the sand this weekend after a week off to face two top 10 opponents in #8 FIU and #2 USC in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. this weekend
- Kaila Dorish and Savannah Pesante are the only FAU pair to play in four or more matches and have an unbeaten record. They stand 8-0 on the year

- FIU moved up to #8 in the AVCA poll this week. The host #16 FAU and #2 USC at the FIU Fort Lauderdale Invitational
- Margherita Bianchin & Federica Frasca were named Pair of the Week this week after going 3-1 at the East Meets West Invite

- Florida State is the highest ranked team in the CCSA. The 'Noles have this weekend off before hosting the Seminole Beach Battle next weekend
- Sara Putt & Payton Caffrey notched CCSA Pair of the Week honors this week after posting a 5-1 overall record out west last weekend, with wins over five ranked opponents
#18 Georgia State Panthers (9-5) - Follow @GSUBeachVB
- Georgia State sits with a 9-5 record on the year. They travel to South Carolina this weekend where they will get shots at #10 South Carolina and #12 Stetson
- Eden Hawes and Georgia Johnson sit with a 10-4 record out of the #1 pair position this season. They've beaten ranked foes such as Grand Canyon and TCU

- After splitting four matches at the East Meets West Invite, LSU comes home to open their brand new LSU Beach Volleyball Stadium on Friday against Coastal Carolina
- Claire Coppola and Kristen Nuss have lived up to the billing of CCSA Preseason Pair of the Year, as they are 10-2 on the year. Their only losses are to #1 UCLA and #2 USC

- After a slow start to 2019, South Carolina has won its last four contest and six of its last seven with wins agains #4 LSU and #2 USC
- The Gamecocks host their first tournament of the year, as they welcome UAB, #18 Georgia State, #12 Stetson and Eastern Kentucky to Columbia

- Southern Miss swept a midweek series with UT Martin on Wednesday, winning both matches 4-1.
- The Golden Eagles travel to Clarksville, Tenn. to take part in Austin Peay's Governor's Challenge

- TCU picked up a huge win on Wednesday, as they took down #13 Loyola Marymount. They now have wins over three ranked opponents this season
- Taylor Bradley and Molly Scheel hold an 8-3 record together this season, and a perfect 4-0 mark when playing out of the #2 position this season

- Tulane has been on a tear as of late, as they have won seven of the last eight contests. They host the Green Wave invitational this weekend
- Kaylie McHugh was one of the best players in the CCSA last season, winning 30 games and collecting CCSA All-Conference and AVCA All-American honors

- UAB rides into the Gamecock Grand Slam on a three-game win streak. The Blazers went 3-1 at the March to May in Gulf Shores, Ala. last weekend
- The pair of Kenley Adams and SalliAnne Napolitano hold the best record on the team, with a mark of 7-5

- UNC Wilmington takes part in the Islanders Beach Volleyball Classic this weekend in Corpus Christi, Texas
