TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – After going 6-0 to lead FSU to its third-straight CCSA Championship, the senior duo of Hailey Luke and Katie Horton was named the VolleyMob Pair of the Week on Tuesday (April 24).
The duo was tabbed as the Most Valuable Pair of the CCSA Tournament after earning a win in every one of the Seminoles' matches on its way to the title, and only surrendered one set in the tournament. Luke/Horton earned FSU's first point in its 3-0 victory over LSU for the title, earning the only straight-set win in the match.
Luke and Horton have won their last 20 consecutive matches, going 17-0 in the No. 2 positon. They have defeated 16 separate pairs ranked in their respective positions by CollegeBeachVB.com this season, and lead the team with a 31-3 record.
The seventh-ranked Seminoles improved to a 30-6 record after staying undefeated in the conference tournament, improving its win streak to 18 consecutive matches.
Florida State will find out its NCAA postseason fate this Sunday, April 29 at 7:00 pm Eastern time on NCAA.com. FSU is one of only two NCAA beach volleyball programs (along with Pepperdine). to make an appearance in every AVCA and NCAA Championship.
