LakePoint, Ga. - The Coastal Collegiate Sports Association (CCSA) awarded its 2017 Beach Volleyball Scholar-Athlete of the Year honor to Florida State's Macy Jerger on Wednesday. She was joined by ten other beach volleyball student-athletes on the All-Academic Team, announced Wednesday by the league office.

Jerger, a sophomore for the Seminoles from Fort Myers, Fla., has been one of the standouts this season both on and off the beach volleyball courts. On the court she has compiled a record of 20-4 with most of her matches coming in the No. 3 court. She is 19-4 in that spot of the lineup for Florida State, while also winning her only match at the No. 2 court in 2017. 19 of her 20 victories this year have come alongside Victoria Paranagua.

In the classroom, Jerger holds an impressive 3.80 cumulative GPA as a biology major. Jerger's performances have helped the Seminoles stay in the top-five of the national polls all season long and to the No. 1 seed in the upcoming 2017 CCSA Championship.

The All-Academic Team recognizes student-athletes who excel both on the court and in the classroom. All the members of the team boast a 3.30 cumulative grade point average or better and participated in at least half of their team's matches.
