CHARLOTTE, N.C. – For the second consecutive day, Queens men's and women's swimming earned a victories in a dual meet, this time against Gardner-Webb. The men's team won by a score of 151-108 while the women's side had the upper hand, 159-95.
Monica Gumina had another strong showing in the pool, taking the top spot in the 50 freestyle (23.94) and the 100 backstroke, 57.05.
Sophia Lange grabbed a chunk of points for the Royals as well, earning first-place finishes in the 100 and 200 butterfly with times of 57.69 and 2:08.69, respectively. She also swam the third leg of the 200 medley relay at 26.20.
On the men's side,
Luke Erwee swept the distance events, touching the wall first in the 500 freestyle (4:44.51) and 1000 freestyle (9:33.57).
Andreas Marz placed first in the 100 and 200 backstrokes, dashing to times of 50.75 and 1:49.91, while swimming the first leg of the 200 medley relay at 23.61, finishing first.
