CHARLOTTE, N.C. –
The UNC Asheville swimming & diving team opened the Fall Frenzy Invitational with several highlights on Friday. Overall, Asheville logged 23 season-best times, 12 lifetime-bests, broke four school records, and two freshman records.

"We started day one in the morning with a lot of energy like we always do," said sophomore Riley Edmundson. "It was awesome having everyone perform great swims back to back and build on each other going into finals. I cannot wait to see what's in store for the rest of the weekend."

The impressive performances for Asheville began in the Friday's morning session. Edmundson broke the school record with a time of 2:04.6 in the 200-yard individual medley, while Beatrice Cocconcelli established a new freshman record clocking in at 2:05.9.

The stellar swims by the Bulldogs kept coming in during the finals session. Anna Marcotti had a lifetime best split in the 200-yard free relay (23.87). In the 500-yard freestyle, Marcotti (5:00.22) and Julie Lahiff (5:03.38) both set new personal-bests.
